Last week saw very little badminton for me due to a knee injury from the previous weekend's running sessions. This was not ideal with a tournament on the weekend. I rest my knee all week hoping to play the tournament. I decided to try the tournamnet out which was my first tournament of the season in Cornwall. I managed to win my first 3 games comfortably which then set me up a semi final place against number 1 seed And eventual winner Rachel Howard. I hadn't played her before but knew it was going to be tough. I lost the match 21-10, 21-11. I felt I played quite well and when I was in the rally there was plenty of chances of doing well, unfortunately after point for point in each game she had the experience to pull away. I also played mixed with fellow academy player Gareth Day, we were very unfortunate to miss out on a semi final place by the American scoring of only 2 games, we drew 1-1 against the finalsits who only lost in three to the winners which made it even more dissapointing for me and Gar. After a long drive home my knee was quite painful and now I will rest until fit to train again which I'm hoping will be quite soon with my first club match coming up in 2 weeks.
