This week i played in the Wilson German Badminton Junior.
It was a really strong event with Koreans and Hong kong players playing in it. I had a bye first round match and when i arrived on Wednesday I found out in the second round i had a walkover so i was straight in the last 16 in singles and wouldnt play singles until the friday. I was playing mixed though with Phil Aspinal from England, we had a tough first game against koreans and lost pretty easy in 2, i played ok and it was a good chance for me to get used to the hall. On Friday I had German number 2 Allina Hammes which i knew was going to be a tough game and I would have to play well. I won
I didnt play the best i could but she had played alot of games that day and i wore her out. Then came the quarter
finals on Saturday I had Korean Ko Woon Park, I lost 21-16 22-20, I played really well but I was just disapointed that i
didnt take the 2nd set as i think I would have had a chance in the 3rd as I was more fit than her. All in all though it was a
good weekend and i come away confident with my performance.
I am also very lucky to be home as when i got to the airport i realised my flight had been booked for the 13th of feb not
march and i had to buy a new ticket costing £115 when i only had £70, luckily i saw phil aspinal at the airport and he lent
me £50 otherwise i would still be in Germany :p
So now its back to hard training ready for the European Badminton Champs in April
