badminton!

i havent started the season off to badly. Last week played in Langenfeld Under17. Beat the german in first round in 3 hard sets! with the scores being 20-22, 21-19,21-18. I found the win of that match a huge positive as in the second set i was losing 12-17 and managed to keep focus and determination up to come back and win the both sets. Unfortunately in second round came across the number 1 seed girl and lost, she was just to good for me! this weeks training has been hard work involving a lot of singles practise ready for the \UK school games next week in gateshead!

down to the last couple of days before the langenfeld badminton tournament which i am playing tomorrow. had 3 on court sessions which were hard concentrating on my singles game by playing a few games against Piret which gives me good training. I havent got the best of draws in this tournament having being drawn against a german girl, then 2nd round danish number 1 seed. I just need to keep my mind focused and play the best i am capable of and hopefully come out with a good result!

Austria Badminton Summer school

I really miss being at the summer school it was such a great experience. The badmitnon training was very hard but made you realise how much trainin is needed. We were on court 3-4 times a day. Up at 7am , training from 8:30 - 10, had a 45mintues break then training from 10:45 until 12:30. For the afternoon sesssion we were all split into different groups so you either trained from 2:30 until 4:15 or 4:15 until 6. Then the session in the evening varied throughout the week, it was either on court badminton, football volleyball or basketball. At the start of the week there was also a singles tournament betweem the players and the last day a doubles tournament which was great fun. The whole trip i found was a pleasure to be part of, as you got to meet lots of new people and their cultures. It would be great to go back again but back to summer training now before the season starts!

I was suprised that I was playing this badminton tournament as I had only entered one other and you were meant to have played another 3. I was quite nervous prior to this badminton tournament as I hadn't trained very much due to injury. Throughout the whole tournament I didn't play my best but not so bad that i lost. I ended up winning the tournament playing 4 matches without losing a game .

Came away form the juniors badminton nationals held in wrexham last week, being number 2 in wales at under19.
Suffered from a cold the week leading up to nationals so wasn't too disappointed in the result, considering i hadn't trained for some time. Lost to Jordan Hart in the final 17-21, 21-15, didn't play too badly.
In under 17s lost to Georgia Hughes in the semi final in 3 sets, could have played that game with a bit more speed, then i might have taken the second set as well as the first.

Playing in "Olve" badminton tournament this weekend in belgium. Tournament is over 3 days. Saturday -Monday. Hopefully ill get a good result. Should be a good tournament :)
