We got to see some good matches and play in an such a great quality event. 

Luckily we were able to drive to this tournament, else we might be currently stuck somewhere abroad!

We faced Leeds Met, and with 3 Malaysians playing for them we knew today would be tough.  We eventually lost 6-2, with both Kate Robertshaw and Alex Langley managing to win a singles game vs Cristen Callow.  The other games were sadly lost, but it was an enjoyable weekend with some great games.  As my last BUC's game as captain for Loughborough its quite strange as university is coming to an end!!

Next up is the European Championships in the middle of April.

Rachel]]> no@spam.com (Rachel Thomas) http://www.rvba.co.uk/blogs/22/BUCs-Finals-Weekend-2010.html http://www.rvba.co.uk/blogs/18/Training-since-the-Uber-Cup.html Training has been directed towards BUC's final which is next weekend in Sheffield.  I will be playing doubles, but not sure with who yet and we face Bath Uni in the semi final.  Loughborough is hoping to get to the final but will be a tough call, with 2 of our first team players unable to play. 

My next tournament after BUC's finals will be the European Champs which are held in England this year.  I am hoping to get back and get in some practice with Sarah during my long easter break, in preperation for the tournament.

We all understood that the matches were going to be very tough, eventually losing 5-0.
The match however proved to be a good experience against some of Europes top players.

Tuesday saw the first day of matches, in which we faced Slovakia.  After a bit of a worry with Sarah waking up with a dodgy eye, she got to see the doctor and we were all set for the match.

With the 3 singles going to 3, and each being won by Wales we guaranteed a win which was brill.  However myself and Sarah could not win the first doubles losing, 21-17, 21-19/  We were disappointing after going down so many points in the first half of the game, making it very difficult to win the game.  Finally Carissa and Caroline won in 2 quite close sets to get a 4-1 win overall!
