In the top of the tie clash the away team Huelva badminton club were once again to come away with a 4-3 win, the same result as the reverse tie in September. The results leaves Huelva badminton top of the Spanish club league booking them an automatic place in to the semi finals of the playoffs.
The match kicked off well for Badminton Paracuellos with Richard Vaughan and Sarah Thomas taking the mixed comfortably against Hendry Winarto and Ojeda despite Richard being below par due to flu.
Next Richard teamed up with Alistair Casey to win the men’s doubles giving badminton Paracuellos a 2-0 lead.
However Huelva badminton then made their comeback taking the ladies doubles in three sets, the first mens singles between Winarto and Llopis in three games, and the 2nd ladies singles with Kurniwan beating Corrales in three games.
Alistair Casey comfortably won his singles tieing the match at 3-3, however the final match saw Carolina Marin comfortably win taking the match 4-3.
Richard Vaughan commented “Badminton Paracuellos were unlucky today, I was just pleased I was able to play as I had a rough day with flu. Huelva badminton are a good team, so hopefully we can have a rematch against them in the final after we have got through the playoffs.”
