The annual Irish Open now a $15,000 Challenger Event has been a mainstay of the Badminton European Circuit and a key Olympic qualifying event in the 2012 Badminton World Federation schedule.
There is a strong badminton community in Ireland with very good participation levels, which I hope to grow. In recent years Badminton Ireland has been at the centre of European Badminton success with great results from national team players, Scott Evans, Chloe Magee, Sam Magee and Tony Stephenson, we will strive to remain at the centre of Europe’s success across all levels in the coming years."
