Mid Glamorgan Badminton ended the season close on a high today after a clash with visiting team Jersey Badminton.

Mid Glam wanted to keep their ranking at the top of division 2 were keen to gain the extra bonus point ensuring pole position going into xmas.

The match kicked off with Vikki Jones and Piret Vaughan taking their singles in two straight, Piret making her debut did not dissapoint.

Keen to follow in the footsteps of the ladies Gareth Day and Craig Walkley brought two home for the boys, both again in straight games.

The score going into the doubles, 4-0 to Mid Glam.

Once again the Ladies kicked off with a great start, Vikki and Nicole taking theirs in 2 followed by Piret and Rachel Thomas doing the same.

Liam Ingram - also making his county debut, teamed up with Richard Vaughan to take their game against the firsts in a staright two followed closely by Gareth Day and Craig Walkley.

The reversal saw much of the same, both Ladies and Mens pairs winning in two straight.

The score going into the Mixed 12-0 to Mid Glamorgan.

Our first husband and wife pairing, Richard and Piret Vaughan taking their first mixed in two straight, Liam and Lauren (now Mrs Lewis - congratulations from all of us by the way both) also won in two straight, followed by Gareth Day and Vikki Jones also in two to take the tally to 15 games to nil.

To be fair to Jersey 15 - 0 made it look like a whitewash which it was not, a very capable team and absolutley lovely people - looking forward to the return match in March when I am sure they will be keen to try and turn the tables.
