Today the Irish Badminton Open kicked off at the at the Irish national badminton centre in Baldoyle, Dublin.

The RVBA's Sarah Thomas was in the qualifying event of the Badminton Europe Challenger event. The first match againt French international Lea Palermo saw Sarah fight through winning 22-20, 21-14.

In the second round Sarah played Irish National player Alannah Stephenson winning 21-9 21-11.

In the main draw of the event Sarah was up against French No2 Barbara Matias losting in three very close games 17-21, 21-14, 21-19.

Another impressive result for Sarah in senior badminton.
