Badminton Wales Richard Vaughan won the La Garriga Badminton Tournament last weekend. The Spanish Badminton Event was held at the La Garriga Badminton Club, in Catalunya.

In the semi final Vaughan defeated Catalan no1 Marc Gallardo 21-7 21-19, before beating Menorca No1 Navarro 21-7 21-7 in the final.

Badminton Paracuellos Team mate Patricia Perez won the ladies doubles and mixed doubles.

Richard Vaughan commented "The tournament was really great practice for this weeks European Badminton Championships in Manchester and hopefully the good preparation will lead to a positive result at the Europeans".

Also competing are the RVBA's Sarah Thomas, Rachel Thomas, and Alistair Casey.
