Team Bath badminton player Josh Green won the 2010 Yonex English National Under-19 Badminton Championships in Milton Keynes on Sunday.

Green defeated the number one seed Toby Penty in a thrilling semi-final before beating the joint-third seed Ben Tier (also Team Bath) in the final.

His thrilling semi-final was the longest match of the competition, finishing 22-24, 21-19, 25-23.

The Team Bath player then beat Tier 21-14, 19-21, 21-9 to win the men's title.

He was awarded his trophy from Derek Batchelor, the vice-chair of Badminton England.

The RVBA's Richard Vaughan commented "Its great to see two Team Bath players doing well. I trained with Josh in Bath and hes really developed under the eye of Peter Bush at the Team Bath training centre. Along with Ben Tier, Tim Stranks, and Chris Coles at the training centre the group is looking very strong at the moment.
