The World Team Badminton Championships Day 2 kicked off this morning at 1000 with the Mens Badminton Wales Team up against Group seeds France.
France got off to a good start taking the first mens singles against Raj Popat and second mens singles against Irwansyah in staright sets. Wales bounced back taking the first mens doubles with Morgan and Phillips. With the match at 2-1 France claimed the tie 3-1 winning the thrid singles.
Wales drew the game back to 2-3 as Martyn Lewis and Irwansyah winning the 2nd mens doubles.
The second defeat in the group leaves Wales out of the title race, and they face Portugal tomorrow where they will be confident of victory.

The Badminton Wales Womens Team were up against Hungary Team on Wednesday. First on court was the RVBA's Sarah Thomas in top ladies singles spot. Once against Sarah came out on top after a 45 minutes match 21-17 in the thrid set against Hungary's Varga. Next on court was Carissa Turner who again won in three games giving Badminton Wales a 2-0 lead.
Thrid on was Sarah and Rachel Thomas in first ladies doubles. In a tough three set match they went down 17 in the thrid. Forth on was the RVBA's Vikki Jones, who lost in two close sets levelling the match at 2-2.
The final match was the 2nd Ladies doubles with Turner and Harvey coming out on top in two close gmaes, winning the match for Wales 3-2.

Next up for the girls tomorrow is the groups top seeds Bulgaria, as the two teams fight it out for promotion.
