Badminton - Youth Olympic Games
Sarah Thomas and Dan van Hooijdonk will travel to Milton Keynes next weekend to compete with top badminton players from England and Scotland to try to secure the two spots available for the Badminton Europe leg of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) trial which will be in Denmark in late March.
The Youth Olympic Games themselves will take place in Singapore in August.
Sarah and Dan will play in a round robin format and will need to come out on top if they are to travel to Denmark for the European leg of the Badminton qualification event.
RVBA Head coach Richard Vaughan commented "This will be a great event for all the British players and it would be great if this could become a regular event. Sarah and Dan will both have a real chance of winning and given their young age thats a great sign for the future. The tournament will also be great preparation for the Welsh National Badminton Championships where both young players will be looking to make an impact.".
